Minimizing Operational Risks (HAZID)

Ampelmann engineers prepare each job together with the customer to ensure maximum safety during the execution of a project, using the following methods:

HAZID: The objective of a HAZID-exercise is to minimize the exposed risks during operation in all likely environmental, operational and accidental condition combinations. The HAZID deals with the identification of potential hazards with respect to the design and operations of the Ampelmann system.

JSA: The Job Safety Assessment focuses on risk control for all personnel that either operates the Ampelmann system or is transferred by the Ampelmann system.

Safety Induction: all Personnel to be transferred offshore and who are new, inexperienced or unfamiliar with the use of the Ampelmann system are required to participate in a safety induction. This briefing is conducted by the Ampelmann Operator and HSE Officer on board and contains a Safety Induction Video and a real-life training in the harbour of departure.

Toolbox Meeting: At the beginning of each shift and at the beginning of each new job on site a toolbox meeting is held by the Supervisor with all personnel involved in the job. All personnel related to the job are involved in working methods and procedures to be followed, consulted about changes and suggestions on continuous improving quality, safety and environmental issues.
