Eliminating failures (FMEA)
The Ampelmann Safety Standards are based on one core mission: to improve safety of marine personnel transfer. To achieve this, safety arguments are vigorously interwoven in all the design and operations of the Ampelmann. To ensure a structured approach and a successful execution of these standards, the Ampelmann company applies two risk management systems in the design of the Ampelmann system: FMEA and HAZID.
FMEA: The FMEA (Failure Mode Effect Analysis) concentrates on the level of system elements. All possible failure-modes of each system element are analyzed in order to find adequate protective, detective and corrective measures to prevent these.
