We believe that through circularity we can build a resilient value chain and become sustainable for the future. We have to accomplish this, simply because the resources on our planet are in finite supply. To realise a circular economy at scale, we need to collaborate with our suppliers, customers and local infrastructure, and close the loops together.
An on-demand business model
As a full-service provider, Ampelmann makes “offshore access as easy as crossing the street” with our on-demand ‘access’ model. In this model, we offer clients our systems on demand, while we maintain ownership. This arrangement has enabled us to build highly efficient maintenance programmes, deliver excellent uptime and control the end-of-life stage of all components reliably.
Modular design strategy
For Ampelmann, the key to building long-lasting products is modularity. Through standardisation and inter-compatibility, submodules of our systems can easily be replaced. The submodules are designed such that they are easily repaired or disassembled for refurbishment. In our portfolio, we offer a variety of add-ons that can be mounted on standardised interfaces. These add-ons make our systems capable to perform a variety of functions for the specific needs of each client.
Closing the loops
Our systems are largely made of steel and consist of complex hydraulic and electric components. We know that the suppliers we work with are better equipped to refurbish, repair and recycle the components and materials they deliver to us. Therefore, we make an effort to close the loops of our resource flows in collaboration with them.
As a result, circular principles are at the heart of our procurement processes and we are actively working towards new value streams with circular material flows. This enables us to deliver 'as new’ systems that are realised with a large number of recycled and refurbished materials and components.
Zero residual waste
The circular economy is based on maintaining material value for as long as possible throughout the value chain. By separating waste carefully, we reduce the amount of residual waste as much as possible and enable the best possible reuse or recycle practices for recyclable materials. We aim to bring the residual waste of our facilities to zero.
