Ampelmann has been awarded a contract by Østensjø for a commissioning campaign on the Siemens Godewind 1 & 2 project in Germany. The scope includes the provision of an A-type system with new software that enables the system to cope with higher sea states while maintaining its unrivaled ability to keep a safe connection with the TP. Within one week of the contract award, the system was mobilised and commissioned in Rotterdam on the Edda Fauna vessel. The A-type system is a full active motion compensated access gangway, designed to transfer personnel safely and efficiently to offshore structures.
“We are very pleased with the quick mobilisation we managed to perform together with Ampelmann. The ability from both parties to work quickly and efficiently, while maintaining a high level of quality and HSE, was vital to be able to secure the contract for Edda Fauna. Feedback from our client regarding the performance of Edda Fauna and the Ampelmann A-type has been nothing but positive, and we expect this to continue for the remainder of the campaign”, according to Østensjø Rederi.
Floris Brands, Business Development Offshore Wind EMEA commented “We are grateful to Østensjø for giving us this opportunity and are confident that we will partner with them in what will be a successful campaign. This project shows that Ampelmann is able to offer a specific, client-focused solution in a very short turn-around for our customers and that we continue to set the standard in offshore safety. We are working towards a safe and efficient project completion within 30 days.”
