As the COVID-19 situation continues to evolve putting an increasing strain on the offshore industry, Ampelmann remains open for business and is committed to providing the safe and reliable service it is known for. The company is ready to help transfer affected crew from offshore structures, so they can receive the medical attention they need as soon as possible.

Last week, Ampelmann assisted in transferring offshore personnel affected by COVID-19, ultimately enabling a safe and speedy hospitalisation.

Providing this service with its motion compensated gangway systems, the Dutch company ensures a quick, efficient and safe transfer, while minimising the need for crane operations. It is also the alternative in situations where helicopters are unable to work. Ampelmann is in discussions with vessel owners and facility duty holders to further develop this service, globally.

“These are times that call for collaboration within the industry so we can all direct our resources where they are most needed,” said Lorenz Nehring, Business Development Manager - UK & Norway at Ampelmann. “We’re looking to forge the right partnerships in these challenging times.”
