First Ampelmann gangway in Vietnam

September 27, 2016

Press release

On September 9th Ampelmann Operations launched its first project at Su Tu Trang gas field, Cuu Long Basin, off the southern coast of Vietnam. Ampelmann provided an A-type system on the deepwater construction vessel 'Aegir' of Heerema Marine Contractors Nederland SE ('HMC').

The weather condition in Vietnam is very unpredictable and the project duration is less than 1 month. Ampelmann’s A-type is a full active motion compensation access system designed to transfer 20 personnel safely and efficiently in only five minutes. In the afore mentioned project this resulted in a 24 hour operation with a minimum ‘waiting on weather’ downtime.

“It is a great milestone for our company to have contracted our first project in Vietnam and a pleasure to be working for HMC. We would like to thank HMC for their support and trust in our services and ability to add value to their operations,” said Bernice Tan, Senior Commercial Manager at Ampelmann.
