More than 10 years ago, Ampelmann marked the beginning of the Walk to Work market. Today, employees took Walk to Work quite literally themselves as they made their way on foot to the office in Delft.
The idea to take the environmentally-friendly route to work is part of Ampelmann’s Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Week. The week is all about improving our well-being, becoming more sustainable and making sure that people go to work and back home safely every day.
“Our core business is in Walk to Work and we thought it would be nice to create a Walk to Work event for our employees onshore,” said organiser Jorien Zuurendonk. “It’s a great way to get some exercise and start your day with colleagues.”
Eager participants walked over 100 kilometres combined, took more than 100,000 steps and reduced their overall CO2 footprint. Not bad for an early morning start, we say. For the highlights, check the video below!
