Introduction to Walk to Work Systems

This course from our W2W Academy gives you the essential knowledge to better understand a Walk to Work (W2W) system. From the flow of W2W operations to procedures and maintenance fundamentals, the programme gives non‑operators the insight they need to work safely and confidently around offshore access systems.

W2W systems have transformed how offshore operations are carried out. While properly trained operators are essential to run these systems, it is just as important that everyone involved in an offshore project understands how a W2W system work, what good performance looks like, and how to recognise when something isn’t quite right . The goal is to optimise the performance of your overall offshore project by aiding the personnel to utilise and become more efficient in a W2W system in order to increase productivity.

The Introduction to W2W Systems course is designed to provide a clear, practical overview of W2W technology. You’ll gain an understanding of the fundamentals of W2W systems, how they operate, and how to identify signs of both safe and unsafe system behavior.

During this course, you will learn about:

The flow of W2W operations
Procedural and system knowledge (personnel, cargo and emergency procedures)
Preventative and corrective maintenance
Hands-on training in our simulator on a system type of your choosing (A-type, E-type or W-type)
A guided tour of W2W systems at our production facility
